La 93º entrega de los Oscar por fin llegó. Una noche muy esperada, sorpresiva y un poco predecible.
Nosotros en HolyFFilms hicimos nuestra quiniela (gracias Letterboxd), que para no sorpresa de todos, terminó ganando Carlos.
Después de dos meses más tarde de lo normal, los premios de la Academia tuvieron una sede y logística diferente. Vimos una entrega muy variada en nominaciones, dos directoras nominadas por primera vez, y algunas presentaciones muy personales. Vimos también un premio a Mejor Actor como cierre de ceremonia, cosa que normalmente en años pasados se lo lleva la categoría de Mejor Película.
Por ahí tenemos nuestras conspiraciones, la primera porque lo entregaría Joaquín Phoenix, y vaya que ese hombre da discursos intensos e interesantes un poco incómodos para la Academia, cosa que no sucedió. Y la segunda teoría es el suspenso que quisieron mantener al entregar o no un premio póstumo, cosa que tampoco sucedió.
Fueron ocho películas nominadas a Mejor Película y nuestra favorita se dividía en Sound of Metal y The Father. Sin embargo, se lo terminó llevando Nomadland de Chloe Zhao, ya que obtuvo numerosas victorias a lo largo de la temporada de premios.
No dejemos de hablar de la gran entrada tipo película de Regina King, el bello baile de Glenn Close y el gran aullido de Frances McDormand.
